Charlatan’s first ponies reported
Hill ‘n’ Dale’s Quack (Sightstown), a Class I multi-stakes winner, represented by his first two ponies last week. On January 17, an Inventive (Dixie Union) foal was born at Seclusive Ranch. Creativity has been the dam of GISW Klimt (Quality Sugar) and of GSP West Bank Chicks (Malibu Moon).
Seclusive’s Chris Baccari said: “This pony has great strength, power, quality and bone. “Glad to have other mares in Quack and will plan to breed again with him after seeing this pony. I think Quack there is a lot of potential with the ability to create a great racehorse.”
Additionally, Mill Ridge Farms reported the January 20 birth of a filthy fly by Quack out of SP Vevina (More Than Ready), as the half-sister to GSW Friar’s Road (Quality Sugar). Bred by RPS Bloodstock, this chubby pup was purchased in the womb during last November’s sale in Keeneland for $400,000.
“She was a pretty girl, long stout, well-boned, and proper,” says Price Bell of Mill Ridge.
Quack, who has admission in 2022, costs $50,000 for the upcoming breeding season. In five career starts, he won the GI Arkansas Derby and HOLD Runhappy Malibu S. in addition to finishing second in the G1 Saudi Cup. His first mares sold for up to $1 million.
