Chandigarh University students staged massive protests in Mohali on Saturday and Sunday evenings, after alleged ‘leakage of offensive videos’ of female students went viral.

Students protested allegations that a student took a video of female students bathing in the motel. The video then went viral on social media.

Protests erupted over initial reports that the video of 60 schoolgirls was allegedly shared by the defendant with her friend in Himachal Pradesh. The university, in an official statement, said that no “offensive video has been made by any student except a personal video shot by a girl, which she shared with her boyfriend.” mine”.

The student protesters also claimed that after the video went viral, the female students living in the dormitory attempted suicide. However, police have denied the allegation of attempted suicide.

Three people – a female university student and two men – have been detained by police so far. The female dormitory manager has also been suspended for alleged misconduct with students.

Punjab Women’s Commission President Manisha Gulati visited the university campus. “I understand the concerns of the parents and I want to assure them that the case is being investigated by the police,” she said, adding, “it is a matter of in-depth investigation why the woman, the creator video, do the same.
