PREPARE: Punjab prime minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday announced that his status and Haryana agreed to name the Chandigarh International Airport in Mohali after the freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.
“Chandigarh’s international airport will be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Punjab and Haryana have come to an agreement on this. Today, held a meeting with Deputy CM Dushyant of Haryana. Chautala on the matter,” Mann, head of government AAP of Punjab, tweeted.
After the meeting, Chautala said Bhagat Singh is an inspiration to young people of all generations. Chautala said since Haryana has an equal stake in the construction of the new airport, the city name “Panchkula” should be added to its name.
