Chain of Love Japan’s Lonely Horse After Currency Depreciation
After Japan’s success at the 2021 Breeders Cup in Del Mar including the victories of Marche Lorraine and Only love you for coach Yoshito Yahagi, there is only one contender to return to this year’s World Championship.
Chain of love coached by Michihiro Ogasa for Koji Maeda’s North Hills activity, will compete for the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1) on November 5 at Keeneland.
Disabled separate from the rest of the candidates, the atmosphere is quiet as Japan representative and interpreter Kate Hunter talks about how her 5-year-old daughter Heart’s Cry has stabilized.
“She travels really well. She doesn’t particularly like being alone in the quarantine. She’s a beautiful maroon when she’s there,” Hunter said.
“When we got in the carriage, she was a completely different horse and once she got here surrounded by other horses she was so happy… She was having the time of her life. me.”
Hunter said the mare has enjoyed training on the Keeneland surface over the past few days. The routine is usually two laps around the training line followed by a light gallop on the main road.
