CFDA brings American fashion into the metaverse




Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced its participation in the first ever metaverse and NFT partnership and education program and the metaverse along with a coalition of digital innovators and thought leaders. With innovative consulting firm 5Crypto, the council will work with The Sandbox and Polygon Studios to establish a Web3 blueprint for American fashion in metaverse with a mission to educate, innovate and create community in the digital world.

“This landmark partnership is an opportunity for our organization to leverage the next generation of digital innovation as a bridge between fashion and crypto by offering members CFDA knowledge and link them with resources to unleash the future of our industry and the next wave of commerce,” CFDA said in a media release.

American design talent will be brought into the virtual space to introduce Web3 to a larger consumer segment and provide brands with insights that enable them to truly engage and empower the community. their business, while also establishing new revenue streams. CFDA will also provide members with educational and professional development resources, allowing them to gain insights and cultivate opportunities for their businesses.

With the support of The Sandbox and Polygon Studios, CFDA is poised to educate and empower business leaders for generations to come,” Steven Kolb, CEO of CFDA.

Sandbox, a leading metaverse co-founded by Sebastien Borget and Arthur Madrid, empowers creators to build their own virtual and gambling worlds. Sandbox’s decentralized platform offers endless possibilities for creativity and collaboration; Previous collaborators include Snoop Dogg, Gucci and Adidas.

The initiative also leverages the expertise of Polygon Studios, the NFT, and the gaming arm of the Ethereum scaling protocol Polygon. Polygon Studios has worked on most of today’s top Web3 games and NFT projects and has helped many high-end brands join Web3, including Dolce & Gabbana, Bulgari, Prada and Adidas.

This partnership creates a comprehensive path to utility and interoperability that the fashion industry has yet to explore. CFDA works to bring these visionaries together and connect them with members and designers, providing them with the knowledge they need to successfully participate in the metaverse.

Additional CFDA program and special projects led by 5Crypto will be announced throughout 2022.
