Celebration BMW M 1000 RR 2022 50th Anniversary BMW USA
The BMW M Division turns 50 this year. The company is celebrating half a century of fast cars with a limited edition of the only one. motorcycle officially worn BMW M Badgethe M 1000 RR.
Really, the only thing better than an iconic M car – or bike – is a limited run model of that same machine. So BMW Motorrad and BMW Motorsport have combined to create (deep breath) in 2022 BMW M 1000 RR 50th Anniversary Edition M.
That’s pretty cool, but I guess this new M RR’s ridiculously long name matches its clunky performance, which builds on the M 1000 RR by reducing weight and adding a bit of tech. The bike features cast aluminum and carbon fiber components throughout, a swingarm that’s lighter than the standard M 1000 RR, and a GPS lap clock.
The M RR 50 Years Edition comes in the latest Sao Paulo Yellow paint that we love BMW M4. And, of course, it gets the M Division badge with flashback vibes. I mean, it only took BMW 48 years to officially grant one of its motorcycles the tri-color seal of approval, following the release of the M 1000 RR in 2020. A bit late, because of BMW Motorrad’s history, Predated the Motorsport division by nearly 50 years. Kudos to BMW to make up for lost time.

M RR 50 Years is considered one of the classic models such as BMW 3.0 CSL and BMW M1. But the opposite vibe begins and ends with its badge and the models that inspired it; this is a modern machine with an inline 4-cylinder making 205 horsepower and 83 lb-ft of torque at 11,000 rpm and wet weight of 423 pounds. It will run 0-60 mph in just 3.1 seconds.
Well, I think this anniversary release of M RR is getting close to the point where M Division might hit a midlife crisis and I promise I mean it in a good way! It’s also close to us that mortals have access to the machines competing in the World Superbike Championship, where the M 1000 RR was conceived.
The M RR 50 Years Anniversary Edition is coming later this year and will start at $36,995 plus a destination of $645. For some of you maybe 1.) afford this thing. and 2.) really scratches the surface of its performance, you can order yours as the M 1000 RR equipped with the optional “50 Years ///M Pack,” which adds $4,500 to the starting price. point 32,495 dollars of the bike.
