Cebu Chooks faces tough test in Fiba 3×3 Riyadh Masters
Cebu Chooks are set to witness the action at one of the last major tournaments of the year, the Fiba 3×3 World Tour Riyadh Masters, from 11 to 12 November at the Formula E Track in Riyadh.
The country does not. 1 player 3×3 Mac Tallo and no. 2 Brandon Ramirez leads the Cebu Chooks team reinforced by Mike Nzesseu and Marcus Hammonds importing Cameroon.
With the Hammonds, the Cebu Chooks filled out its six-team roster for the season.
“It’s good that Marcus is here in the water and training with us,” said Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 head coach Chico Lanete. “Marcus is also very familiar with the local 3×3 scene, playing against many of the teams here.”
Currently ranked 26th in the world, the Cebu Chooks will need to be at their best and beyond in Riyadh, where the top 3×3 teams are taking part.
Cebu Chooks is placed in Group A, where it will face world no. 1 UB at 1 a.m. Saturday before arriving in Qatar’s Doha at 3:5 a.m.
Ub has won four Master tournaments to date, including 2022 Chooks-to-Go Fiba 3 × 3 World Tour Manila Masters. However, the team finished seventh in Paris last month.
Meanwhile, Doha has competed in Cebu and the Paris Masters.
Chooks-to-Go President Ronald Mascariñas said, “We are cherishing expectations for this tournament as we are currently rebuilding our Cebu team. “We just hope for a good performance for Mac and Brandon in Riyadh.”
