CBI At My Office, Tweets Arvind Kejriwal’s Deputy; Agency Says No Raid
New Delhi:
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting raids on the office of Delhi Deputy Minister Manish Sisodia, the AAP leader announced. Even so, the investigating agency denied that they conducted any raid on Mr. Sisodia’s office today.
In a tweet, Mr. Sisodia said: “Today again the CBI came to my office. They were welcomed. They raided my house, my office, ransacked my locker and even conducted an investigation in my village. Nothing was found against me and nothing will be found because I didn’t do anything wrong.”
Sources in the CBI said a team went to the Delhi Deputy Minister’s office to collect documents and it was not a raid.
Mr. Sisodia’s home was searched several times by the CBI in August after receiving permission from Lieutenant General VK Saxena of Delhi to investigate. The deputy minister is the main defendant in the case, which involves private players giving kickbacks to political leaders in exchange for liquor licenses.
The AAP has announced that Mr Sisodia will be arrested in what it calls “political retaliation” by the BJP.
