Catterall Workout Quotes for Saturday Nights in Glasgow

After Josh Taylor won the undisputed bodyweight title last May, he wanted to defend all four of his belts, and do it in front of the Scots.

He’ll have a chance to head home on Saturday against No. 1 WBO contender Jack Catterall at a sold-out OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland (ESPN+, 2pm ET/11am PT).

Fight week activities kick off Wednesday in Glasgow, as Taylor, Catterall and more of the underweight take part in extended practice at the St. Enoch.

This is what the main event warriors have to say three days before the night of the fight.

Josh Taylor

“I’m quick, I’m quick, I’m quick. I can’t wait to get in there and destroy him in every part of the game. I can’t wait to get in there and have a really great performance on Saturday. A real homecoming, my first time here in a few years. I come back home. The fans have been starving to a great night for several years, and I am determined to perform well, keep the belt here and continue to bring big boxing back to Scotland. ”

“Glasgow, the people of Glasgow, the people of Scotland, it has been my home since the Commonwealth Games. I get a great reception every time I’m here. Belts are here. Nothing beats me at Hydro on Saturday. “

Jack Catterall

“I would be very disappointed if I didn’t get booed on Saturday. If Josh comes to Chorley, he’s bound to get booed, so I expect the same thing to happen here. You know what, I’m all for it. This is his town. This is his man. Support your man. I am coming here as the enemy. That’s what it is.”

“I am preparing for a hard fight, a long war, a hard fight. I can’t go into specifics about what we plan to do in the fight, but I’m definitely prepared for anything and everything. ”

“I have to go above and beyond for this fight. All that I did in all my previous matches for nothing. I have to go and have the best performance of my career to beat Josh on Saturday. Josh is at the top of the game – he has all the belts – so I have to fight everything on Saturday. Believe me when I say I’m prepared to go to the darkest places possible to come home with that victory.
