Carlos Yulo misses floor exercise, rings final in Artistic Gymnastics World Cup

MANILA, Philippines–Carlos Yulo missed a chance to win a medal in the ring and men’s floor exercises of the 2023 FIG Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Cottbus, Germany.

The Filipino gymnast failed to reach the finals of both events after finishing 20th in the floor exercise where Yulo is a former world champion and 13th in the ring.

But all is not lost for the 4-foot-11 tall generator as he witnesses action in the preliminary rounds of the parallel bars and vault this weekend.

Yulo scored 13,400 points in the field of 52 gymnasts in the floor elimination topped by defending Olympic champion Artem Dolgopyat of Israel (14,833).

He scored 13,833 in the ring, earning 8,133 performing on a difficulty of 5,700.

Three-time world champion Eleftherios Petrounias of Greece topped qualifying with 14,733 and Mahdi Ahmad Kohani of Iran was second with 14,666.
