Carlos Yulo bounces back with floor exercise gold in Doha World Cup
MANILA, Philippines–Carlos Yulo continued after a disappointing performance last week and this time impressed the judges by winning gold in the men’s floor exercise of the Gymnastics Championships. FIG 2023 in Doha, Qatar.
The Philippines’ top gymnastics bet ran a perfect routine to land a top score of 14.833, seeing Yulo fly high with lots of twists and turns and do aerial stunts. Perfectly dazzled the crowd at the Aspire Dome.
The second leg of the four-time World Cup qualifier has allowed the two-time former world champion to atone from one performing off the podium in the same event in Cottbus, Germany last week.

Minami Kazuki pocketed the silver medal with 14,200 and the UK’s Luke Whitehouse was third with 13,966.
Yulo, the world champion in the 2019 floor exercise held in Stuttgart, Germany, finished second in qualifying with 14,500.
Israel’s Artem Dolgopyat, the winner of the first leg, looked set to pick up another gold medal after topping qualifying, but the Olympic champion withdrew in the final.
Two more gold medals remain in Yulo’s sights during Saturday’s diving and tandem finals.
