The House Select Committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riots will be set for Thursday to interview Virginia Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, NBC News reported.

The virtual interview with the conservative political activist and spouse of justice in power is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. ET, two sources familiar with the matter told NBC.

Reports have indicated that Thomas, who was traveling with Ginni, was involved in efforts to challenge the 2020 presidential election results and discussed those efforts with Trump administration officials.

A committee spokesman declined CNBC’s request for comment on the interview. A Supreme Court spokesman did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment.

Select Committee Chair Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., previously confirmed that the panel will interview Ginni Thomas this week.

Thomas’ attorney, Mark Paoletta, said in a statement last week that “Ms. Thomas is eager to answer committee questions to clear up any misconceptions about her work in relation to the 2020 election.” Paoletta did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.

The panel is investigating the events and circumstances surrounding the riots on January 6, 2021, when a violent mob by then-President Donald TrumpSupporters stormed the US Capitol. The uprising forced lawmakers to flee their chambers and temporarily prevented them from confirming the President Joe BidenTrump’s victory over Trump in the 2020 election.

The committee was scheduled to hold its ninth public hearing this week, but postpone it due to Hurricane Ian, a major hurricane approaching Florida at the time.
