Via Sean Jones: 168-lb four-belt champions Canelo Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin will be happy to fight for the WBC’s newly created ‘Zapoteca belt’ also known as the ‘Jaguar Warrior’ belt on September 17.
The artisans created the stunning Zapoteca belt, which will go to Canelo (57-2-2, 39 KOs) and Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) in a DAZN pay-per-view trio match their upcoming event on September 17. at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Canelo will have four titles to contend with, and it’s pretty important that he doesn’t lose this fight as it will be his second loss in a row. He was embarrassed in front of Dmitry Bivol last May, who showed how the Mexican star is a restricted boxer.

More important than the distinctive Jaguar Warriors belt created by the WBC, Canelo and Golovkin will fight to maintain their careers. It’s not just 40 year old Golovkin that will fight with teeth & nails to stay fit.
So does Canelo because he looks all-time worse than Bivol, and the ridiculous score the three judges gave him made the fight a joke.
All three referees who worked for the Canelo-Bivol fight had identical scores of 115-113, which is far from the fight that took place. The score is said to be 119-109 x 3, as Canelo only seems to have won an inning or two.
Canelo says he wants to end Golovkin’s career by knocking him out on September 17, but that’s pretty far-fetched. Canelo who lacks the gas tank attacks Golovkin repeatedly to take him down.
It would be a big mistake on Canelo’s part if he emptied his gas tank trying to stop Golovkin because he would be there to be taken over by GGG later, and he would take advantage of it.
Canelo is a good boxer, but his Achilles heel is his poor cardio, which has hampered his entire career. It’s not going to improve at this point, with Canelo already 32 years old and having the worst performance of his career against Bivol.
