Losing to Bivol was the first time Mexicans tasted defeat in the professional ring in nearly a decade since his defeat to Floyd Mayweather, and his glitching over the weekend suggests it hasn’t fully sunk in yet.
Fans around the world have been buzzing for the rematch, and rumors have swirled that Canelo has wanted revenge for the light heavy loss since the moment the decision was made tonight.
However, the undisputed super-middleweight champion is carrying an injury that will likely be sidelined until 2023.
Bivol, as long as he passes Gilberto Ramirez in Abu Dhabi next monthare also said to be interested in an undisputed fight with fellow Russian Artur Beterbiev, who holds three of the belts at 175lb.
Canelo is not without suitors in the super-average position if he chooses a rematch against Bivol, with David Benavidez and Demtrius Andrade being the most vocal in calling for a big money fight with star.
