“Can Put Some Fitness Test For Him…”: India Batting Coach Smirks At Reports On Rahul Dravid Being Unwell

Reports have been made around the India head coach Rahul Dravid had to fly home to Bengaluru from Kolkata after the second ODI against Sri Lanka, due to health concerns. This news raised concerns about the health of the former Indian captain. It is also reported that Dravid will not be with the team for the third place and final match against Sri Lanka, which is scheduled to take place at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. However, India’s batting coach Vikram Rathour has quashed any rumors.

Before the ODI final, Rathour spoke in a pre-match press conference.

While answering a question, Rathour revealed Dravid is “absolutely fine” and is currently working with the team. He added that the 50-year-old could do a few rounds on the cricket field if needed.

“The boss is totally fine. I don’t know where the news is coming from. He’s perfectly fine. You want him to go a few laps, you want to see that? We can also conduct some tests. fitness for him. He’s here (in Thiruvananthapuram with the Indian team),” Rathour said.

Additionally, hours after the press conference, Dravid was photographed overseeing the optional Indian training session.

India won the three-match series, taking a 2-0 lead, following victories in Cuttack and Kolkata respectively.

However, with the top-ranked ODI team in the world, New Zealand, going on tour in India later this month, a 3-0 sweep would be great to keep team morale high.

India and New Zealand will play three ODIs, followed by multiple T20I.
