Dinesh D’Souza’s trademark is easy to recognize after five successful features.
His documentaries are conservative films, filled with fiery attacks on progressive leaders and principles. Critics have grabbed and arrested them, exposing their liberal biases in the process.
A D’Souza film, however, has a distinct, recognizable feel to those on both sides of the ideological aisle.
“2000 Mules” is completely different, in every way, except for one. You will never hear the arguments made in the movie in the media or other traditional ecosystems.
Except you should. And, if the movie has the impact it deserves, that will most likely change.
D’Souza is at the center once again, but this time he’s taking on a topic that could get someone banned by Big Tech – questioning the 2020 election results.
We’re allowed to doubt what went down in 2016, but culture enforcers insist that doesn’t apply to the Trump/Biden battle. And, to be fair, Team Trump did a lousy job of making their case in the weeks following Joe Biden’s final victory.
The movie opens with D’Souza and radio stars from the Salem Media galaxy – think Dennis Prager, Sebastian Gorka and more – acknowledge that fact. They also worry about whether they believe Democrats cheated to get Biden to the finish line.
“I am an agnostic,” Prager said. The conversation was uncomfortable and raw.

Then D’Souza introduced us Right vote, a group dating back to 2009 fighting for election integrity. They investigated the 2020 presidential results in a way that previous generations could not. They examined the geo-tracking footprints of people around ballot boxes in swing states to understand their behavior in the key weeks leading up to Election Day.
And True the Vote smells like a rat.
“2000 Mules” allows the team to methodically share their findings and is like watching a sequel to “Friday the 13th” in confusing slow motion.
Is this our country?
Geo-tracking data, collected from mobile phones, shows the movement of so-called “mule” people who deposit ballots into bins in key parts of the country. For example, think of the Atlanta neighborhood in Georgia.
This is not Joe or Jane voting for their parents or neighbors. These are the people who have a lot of votes, surreptitiously sending them out at all hours of the day.
The data tracks these individuals, showing how their patterns cause alarms. These mules repeatedly drove to (perhaps libertarian) nonprofits for short periods of time while also visiting polling places.
From this time to that time.
Suspicious. But “2000 Mules” is much more than that. True the Vote also obtained surveillance video footage from selected ballot box locations. Some mules wear blue surgical gloves while dropping ballots, immediately discarding them once action is taken.
Others took pictures of themselves to prove that they visited the boxes in question.
Who does that?
Many questions remain. Does money change hands? Who goes to the polls in the middle of the night, with or without gloves? And why are so many polling places missing the footage in the first place?

D’Souza’s approach here is cautious, everyone is learning about these findings with us. The material requires no less, and D’Souza respects the process.
“2000 Mules” makes a convincing case in a very short amount of time, but the filmmakers have other anecdotal evidence that adds to the unease.
Could this be true? What happens next? We have seen some movements in Georgia on the matter, but the details here deserve much more.
Is it possible to reveal this documentary? Is there any other reliable explanation for what we see in the movie?
The story in “2000 Mules” will shake the country if confirmed. For that reason alone, this chilling documentary should be taken seriously. It also cannot be the end of the story. Give legitimate critics a chance to verify the details gleaned here, not just partisans eager to denigrate anything with the D’Souza name on it.
If the methods proposed by Team D’Souza are not stopped, who dares to say that the 2022 elections, or beyond, will not be harmed?
Hit or miss: “2000 Mules” is possibly the most important documentary of the year, if not the decade. That’s not exaggeration.
