Cameron Norrie book in Korea Open Quarterfinals with victory over Kaichi Uchida | Tennis News

Cameron Norrie reached the quarterfinals of the Korean Open after beating Kaichi Uchida 6-2 6-2.

The British No. 1 team took more than an hour to see off Uchida straight and advance to the final round of 8 in Seoul.

Norrie, the tournament’s No. 2 seed, now faces Jenson Brooksby in the quarterfinals as he aims to claim his third win of the year.

Brooksby of the US overcame South Korea’s No. 1 Kwon Soon-woo in their round of 16 meeting, winning 6-3 6-4 over the home team.

Norrie has won the Delray Beach Open and Lyon Open so far this year, and the tennis player’s performance in the Wimbledon semifinals saw him break into the top 10 of the ATP rankings for the first time.

The 27-year-old is now aiming to finish the season strong to ensure he finishes in the top eight on the Race to Turin and qualify for the ATP World Finals in November.
