Calais Campbell suggests retiring after the 2022 season

Baltimore Raven Defensive late Calais Campbell has played 14 years in the NFL since being selected in the second round of the 2008 draft by the Arizona Cardinals.

On Friday, appearing on the NFL Network, Pro Bowler six times hinted that the 2022 season could be his last.

“I know this year I’ve got it in me. I don’t know if there’s anything left of it after that,” Campbell said. “But I’m going to leave it all on the field and empty the tank. I’m preparing like it’s my last year. I’ll give it all I have.”

In April, Campbell agreed to a two years, $12.5 million contract with Raven.

The 35-year-old played 15 games for Raven last season, post 49 balls and 1.5 sacks.

Raven acquired Campbell in a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020 in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick.

During his two seasons in Baltimore, Campbell registered 77 tackles and 5.5 covers, becoming the Pro Bowl in 2020.

In 213 career NFL games for the Cardinals, Jaguars and Ravens, Campbell had 773 tackles, 93.5 covers, 12 clumsy catches and 3 interceptions.
