Bucs’ Wirfs, could Jensen be the deciding game on Sunday?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers sailed past the Philadelphia Eagles 31-15 on Sunday to open their 2022 season but have seen proper handling of Tristan Wirfs and midfielder Ryan Jensen was injured in the victory. Wirfs sprained his right ankle while Jensen suffered a sprained left ankle.

Tampa Bay knows it will face the winner of Monday’s official game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Rams this coming Sunday, and Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians suggested to reporters. that he is holding out hope that both of his starting attacking lineups will be available by the end of the week.

“As hard as he is, I think there’s a chance,” Arians said of the Wirfs playing in the next round of the playoffs, according to Jenna Laine by ESPN. “He and Ryan will probably go all the way to Friday before we know anything is true, so we’ll just have to wait and see.”

Also, back-up tackle Josh Wells is dealing with what Arians calls the quad injury “pretty well” and problematic for Sunday. Arians admitted on Monday that he was “very worried” about the state of the team’s handling position.

“Hopefully not much Wednesday and Thursday,” he said of such worries. “But very, very concerned about it today because we will have to put [right guard Alex] Cappa saved and Aaron Stinnie headed in the first quarter of that game. But thank God Josh gutted it. “
