In Bardot’s memoir, Tears of Battle: An Animal Rights Memoir, she talks about “how humans have hurt me”.
She wrote: “The extreme fear… that overwhelms me when I face most people… has caused me great suffering throughout my entire life as an actress.
“Initially, I enjoyed having people talk about me, but very quickly it suffocated me and ruined me. During the 20 years of filming, every time I started filming, I would have herpes outbreaks.
“This celebrity cult… takes my breath away.”
She also endured “the pain” of growing up with strict parents who only let her marry Vadim if he converted to Catholicism, the Daily Mail reported.
