Bridgerton: Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan shine in season three
But in season three, she becomes more independent and starts wearing colors like dark emerald green as well as more muted tones. “It’s as backwards as we can go.”
“We also changed her body shape to make her more mature, more sexy and less childish,” Glaser adds.
Meanwhile, the initial brief for Colin was that he had to “look younger” than his two brothers, “so we kept his color more youthful”, says Dougie Hawkes, Bridgerton’s associate costume designer explains.
But in the new season, Colin has just returned from traveling around Europe in the summer.
“He came back as a man, so the evolution from boyish skin tone to superior male strength… was a drastic transition,” Hawkes explains.
As a result, Colin, who wore lighter colors such as baby blue in previous episodes, is seen this time in much more striking colors, such as navy blue and brown.
According to Glaser, his clothes also allow him to move more and have more swagger.
