Brian Flores alleges racist recruitment practices in NFL lawsuit filed

Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores filed a class-action lawsuit against the NFL and its 32 teams on Tuesday, alleging that racism got him fired in January and led to him being fired. I’m not being considered for the New York Giants head coach job.

The rules have been made, promises have been made – but nothing has changed. In fact, racism is only made worse by the NFL’s clear commitment to social justice.”

In the lawsuit, Flores alleges his relationship with Dolphins owner Stephen Ross fractured in 2019, Flores’ first season with the team. Flores also said Ross pressured him to break NFL spoofing rules “to recruit a standout quarterback,” even setting up a coach and quarterback meeting. Pro Football Talk reported in January that Ross was “obsessed”. with the acquisition of Houston Texans full-back Deshaun Watson for the 2021 season.

In damning evidence, Flores also released screenshots of messages with New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who mistakenly thought he was texting Brian Daboll. Belichick congratulated Daboll on getting the job of coaching the Giants three days before Flores interviewed for the position.
