Brees thinks the Saints should still let Hill shoot QB

Drew Brees still has many opinions on how the New Orleans Saints should carry out their offensive behavior. Either of those opinions could put him in a different position with the organization.

Brees sit down for an interview with Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com and discussed some of the issues facing the Saints, including the team’s midfield situation. When asked if the Saints would draft a back four, Brees felt it was unnecessary. One of the reasons, he said, is that they can and should still use Taysom Hill’s skill set.

“I still believe that Taysom should play at least 10-15 seconds in midfield a game, just given his threat,” Brees said.

Brees has seen Hill up close, so he clearly knows what he’s talking about here. That said, the Saints seem to disagree. Reports earlier in the season suggested that the Saints is pulling the plug on Hill like a quarterback. Another report outlined What does the organization plan to do with him instead?.

If the Saints really don’t give Hill a point in midfield, Brees could be disappointed. However, Hill still has not shown much before the opportunities presented. The Saints could be well served using his versatility in other ways.
