Earlier on Friday, Brazilian media reported that Pelé had responded to antibiotic treatment and was in a stable condition “with an overall improvement in his state of health”.
The iconic footballer himself has also given an update on his health, showing he is in hospital as part of a monthly visit and is elated to see the positive messages that he has received from all over the world.
“Guys, I’m at the hospital for a monthly check-up. It’s great to receive positive messages like this. Thank you Qatar for this gratitude and thank you to everyone who sent me vibrations. Good vibes!”, he wrote in an Instagram post.
On Tuesday, Pele’s daughter said: “There is a lot of alarm in the media today regarding my father’s health. He is in the hospital for medication adjustments. There is no school. Any new emergencies or dire predictions. I’ll be there for New Year’s and promise to post some pictures.”
Some football players and well-wishers, like Kylian Mbappealso sent Pele a message on social media after learning he had been transferred to ‘palliative care’.
