Brazil election: Why are the poor voting for Lula?

Brazilians go to the polls on Sunday to elect their next president, in a contest between former left-wing President Lula da Silva and right-wing incumbent Jair Bolsonaro.

The northeastern region of Brazil has been hit hard during the pandemic, and in the state of Ceará, many believe that Lula has the answers to their problems.
