Brazil Congress: Thousands turn out for pro-democracy rallies
Thousands of people took to the streets across Brazil in pro-democracy protests, in response to Sunday’s attack on government buildings by supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro.
In the country’s largest city, São Paulo, crowds chanted that Mr Bolsonaro should go to jail.
The current president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva Lula, held several meetings when his government insisted his legislative program would not be delayed by the attack.
