Brandy is returning as the beloved heroine Cinderella in the original Disney+ movie pocket watchthat will be the sequel to Descendants Franchising. Brandy first played the iconic character in the 1997 TV adaptation which also starred Whitney Houston. The movie recently celebrated its anniversary Celebrating 25 years of establishment.
Rita Ora also joins the cast as the legendary Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. Brandy and Rita are part of an incredible team that also includes China Anne McClain, Kylie Cantrall, Dara Renee, Malia’s baker, Ruby Rose Rotator, Morgan Dudley, Joshua Colleyand Melanie Paxson
According to an analysis of the cast, Brandy’s Cinderella is “a Disney classic, elegant, warm, kind, and diplomatic.” In pocket watch, Cinderella has a daughter with Prince Charming named Chloe, played by Malia. The 16-year-old is “smart and athletic, but her privilege makes her a little naive about the real world.”
Morgan will play young Ella/Cinderella in pocket watch. Ella is outspoken, pragmatic, and a little nervous about being forced to work for her evil stepmother.” Kylie plays Red, the rebellious 16-year-old daughter of the Queen of Hearts. Red “knew he would never get the Queen’s approval, so he tried to anger his mother and cause trouble”.
China and Melanie will reprise their roles from the previous season Descendants film. China is famous for playing Uma, daughter of Ursula. Melanie stars in all 3 Descendants movies like Fairy Godmother.
pocket watch will return to the lands of Auradon and the Isle of the Lost, and also take fans through the rabbit hole into the unincorporated hostile territory of Wonderland. The official synopsis reads: “The newly expanded story finds polar opposites Red and Chloe crossing the street at a big celebration in Auradon when chaos suddenly breaks out. To prevent an impending coup, they must join forces to travel back in time, through a magical pocket watch created by the Mad Hatter’s son, to prevent an event that could lead to serious consequences.”
Descendants became a Disney Channel phenomenon when the first series premiered in 2015. The original cast revolved around the children of Maleficent, Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil, and Jafar, but the two sequels introduced introduces more children of famous Disney heroes and villains.
