Brabus decided to take a page out Danny DeVitoPlaybook of and get really weird with it. Friends, I give you the Brabus P 900 Rocket Edition. If you’re a little confused about what you’re looking at, don’t worry. Me too, but it’s pretty much Mercedes-AMG G63 with a short truck bed taped to the back. Oh… and it also makes 900 hp. And only 10 are being made.

P 900 Rocket Edition looks like if you order one small truck into a copier and hit 150 percent. There is something Turn off about it, but to my ruined brain it looks great. Anyway, that’s typical Brabus up front. That means it’s a bit much, but it still fits the company’s usual gimmicky design language. It has some big wheels to go with that idea – the 24-inch monolith graces all four corners. Throughout the entire truck are various “Rocket Red” color accents and carbon fiber.

If all that isn’t enough for you, the P 900 has a transparent hood. Well, this is a front-engined car with a view of the engine so you can enjoy it anytime? And it’s not half the measure like Corvette C6 ZR1.

The 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 900 horsepower and 922 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough power to take this weird (giant) lil guy from 0-60 mph in about 3.7 seconds. Keep your foot in it and the P 900 will hit 174 mph.

Exhaust and engine sounds are routed through a high-performance exhaust system with all-carbon exhaust trim in the usual G-Wagen location: Side bin, just in front of the rear wheel. None of this counts, of course, of having a truck bed in the back complete with carbon side walls and a roll bar. What the hell is that, Brabus? Who will actually use it?

Inside is two-tone leather with a “splendid” clamshell diamond tufted pattern. That’s right, it was Brabus who called this model extravagant. The entire interior also features red accents, in keeping with the Rocket Red aesthetic. Brabus also says that there are some interior details that have been finished in the style of the “Heritage” brand. They honor the year Brabus was founded – 1977 – with the designation “77”.

The company calls the P900 the “Purebred Brabus Masterpiece”. Sure, why not? In a world where the majority of cars start out the same, I suppose it’s a good thing that Brabus goes against the field with this rig. Is it for everyone? Absolutely not, but hey, who are we to judge?

Nothing really matters, though, as you’ll almost certainly never see it. As we said earlier, only 10 were produced and they cost over $640,000 each. So if you don’t like it, you have nothing to worry about.
