BP PLC says it has agreed to buy US biogas producer Archaea Energy with $3.3 billion plus debt bets on growing demand from customers for renewable fuels.
The British oil group said on Monday that its acquisition of Houston-based Archaea – its biggest deal since 2018 acquisition of US shale assets—Will expand the company’s clean energy portfolio. BPlike other major oil companies, is shifting more resources to lower-carbon energy, even as it continues with its core business of producing oil and gas.
