Boxing results: Usyk wins split decision against Joshua!

In the first round, Usyk used an effective shot as Joshua advanced mainly in defence. In the second and third rounds, Joshua overtook Usyk forward to assist the champ with a solid third round right hook from Joshua rocking Usyk. In the fourth round, Usyk came back and showed good movement against the taller Joshua, landing his left with his chin on many occasions.

In the fifth round, Joshua was cautioned for a light blow from referee Louis Pabon. Usyk had an advantage. In the sixth inning, it went back and forth with Joshua using his reach but Usyk was still the busier of the two.

In the seventh round, Usyk continued to knock Joshua down mainly with his stroke. In the eighth round, Joshua worked his body well to get through this round despite the close one. In the ninth round, Joshua took it all for Usyk as he held out for a moment.

In the tenth round, Usyk hurt Joshua for most of the first round when Joshua injured Usyk with a single punch to get Usky back in the round. In the eleventh round, things went on and on as Usyk kept coming back as well as Joshua trying to bully him before being tied up. Joshua could have walked away with a few low shots.

In the 12th and final round, the referee didn’t warn Joshua over and over again for rough tactics because he was almost exhausted with him injuring Usyk in the half half, otherwise Usyk would have won the right to enter. round.

In the first inning with forty seconds remaining, a right hook from Zhang overhead knocked Hrgovic out as referee Malik Waleed counted eight points. In the second inning, Hrgovic returned to dominate the outer ring and knocked him down in the final half-minute with a right on the chin.

In the third round, Zhang caused an early clash with Hrgovic having his hairline cut and Zhang having a small bump on his forehead with Hrgovic in the close. In the fourth round, Zhang came back well in a spirited round and it was all his.

In the final seconds of the fifth round, Zhang injured Hrgovic with a left chin. In the sixth round, Zhang painfully defeated Hrgovic with half a dozen unanswered punches mid-round. In the seventh and eighth innings, Hrgovic came back very well to knock the lead to the chin of Zhang, who could be weary.

In the ninth inning, Zhang knocked out Hrgovic in front of the bell. In the tenth round, Hrgovic returned to defeat Zhang. In the eleventh round, both fighters were nearly exhausted when Zhang came down from a slick logo in the center of the canvas in one round Hrgovic landed a right as Zhang went down.

In the twelfth and final inning, Hrgovic eliminated Zhang all but the last, both being reduced to slow motion.

Former WBC Super Middleweight and WBA Light Heavyweight Champion Badou Jack “The Ripper,” 27-3-3 (16), #199, of Stockholm, SW and Las Vegas, NV, won the split decision against Richard “Popeye the Sailor Man” Rivera, 21-1 (16), #195, by Hartford, CT, over 10 rounds.

In the first two rounds, Rivera swung wildly with handovers that kept Jack on the defensive most of the time. In the third and fourth innings, Jack landed only with narrow body shots but still performed well. Rivera landed three lanes straight to Jack’s chin.

In the fifth round, Jack finally landed a good punch in Rivera’s face causing a red mark under Rivera’s right eye. In the sixth and seventh rounds, Rivera landed Jack. In the eighth round, Jack let Rivera shake several times with left hooks to the chin in a four-minute inning.

In the ninth inning, Jack did well despite looking inferior in points. In the tenth and final round, Rivera knocked Jack out with a forehand until the last half minute of the round when Jack rocked Rivera with a right cross to the chin. The referee is Frank Garza.

Scores are 96-94 Rivera, 96-94 Jack and 96-94 Jack with this writer being 96-94 Rivera.

Cruiser Andrew “Beast” Tabiti, 20-1 (16), #216 ¾, of Las Vegas, NV, intercepted James “The Beast” Wilson, 7-1-1 (6), #238 ½, of North Hollywood, CA , who did not appear in the 6th, 8th round.

In the fifth inning, Tabiti eliminated Wilson because referee Daniel Van de Wiele counted eight points.

Super Bantamweight Olympian Ramla Ali, 7-0 (1), #122 ½, of Somalia and Greenwich, London, UK, knocks out Crystal “Barh Garcia” Nova, 10-3 (10), #123, of Santo Domingo, DR, at 1:05 of the first day of the 8 scheduled day.

In the first inning, an overhand blow right from Ali to Nova’s chin knocked the spokesperson down, sending her to her knees for referee Frank Garza.

Super lightweight Bader “The Master” Samreen, 6-0 (5), #136¼, by Amman, Jordan, blocking Fuad “The Flash” Tarverdi, 5-3(4), #135, by Lankaran, AZB, at 1:16 of the 4th and final inning.

For the first three innings, Samreen dominated Tarverdi. Twice in the third half, Tarverdi turned away from Samreen when he received a warning from referee David Irving. In the fourth and final inning near the end of the first minute, a jolt to Samreen’s right chin knocked Tarverdi out by 8 counts. Later in the inning, referee Irving dismissed the mismatch with Tarverdi making little return to action in any foul situations.

Ultralightweight Ziyad “Zizo” Almaayouf, 1-0 (1), #139 ¼, of Rias, Saudi Arabia and LA, CA, stopped Alfredo Alatorre, 0-1 (0), #137, of Guadala, Mexico, with a score of 2:55 of the first round of a 4.

In the first round, Alatorre brought it to Almaayouf to aid him in the first minute. Midway through, Almaayouf took the lead and knocked Alatorre out as referee Daniel Van de Wiele counted eight points. In the final forty seconds, a combination of three Almaayouf punches hit the chin and knocked Alatorre off the field.

Almaayouf was born in Egypt and is currently coached by former world champion Buddy McGirt.
