Via Vince Dwriter: As a co-event in the Dillian Whyte vs. DAZN’s Jermaine Franklin, 27-year-old Fabio Wardley, beat Nathan Gorman, when Gorman threw a corner into the third round, and Wardley won and vacated the British Heavyweight Title as a result, at Wembley Arena in London.

Nathan Gorman (19-2, 13 KOs) came on in the opening half, and he took control of the game by immediately establishing range and distance. Gorman got off to a solid start as his stab worked, and his upper right shot was precise and precise.
For the first minute of the second round, Gorman seemed to be in control of the round until one of the punches he threw sent Wardley a nosebleed. Wardley became very aggressive as he stepped forward and performed a combination that put Gorman on his feet.
Fabio Wardley landed with a large right hand causing Gorman to lose his balance, and then he landed with a second right hand causing his opponent to fall to the tarp. Gorman was able to get to his feet and as the game continued, Fabio Wardley continued to strike with his right hand.
Gorman is in survival mode when he lands with a big left hook, but Wardley won’t be denied when he takes down Gorman a second time as he lands with his right hand to the side of his head at 25. seconds to continue in the second round.
Luckily for Gorman, he made it to the third round, but midway through the third, Wardley connected with a right hand that sent him falling to the tarp for the third time. Again, Gorman was able to get to his feet, but after Wardley hit him with two additional right hands, his corner became difficult.
Overtime gave Fabio Wardley a TKO victory and the British Heavyweight Championship. It looked like they had to stop early at the corner, but maybe they did the right thing because Gorman was standing on unsteady legs with 30 seconds left to start the round.
With the win, Fabio Wardley (15-0, 14 KOs) had an impressive victory over a formidable opponent. In his post-fight press conference, Wardley made it clear how much the win meant to him, and he also talked about the growth in his boxing career.
“It’s massive. It’s massive. It’s funny to say like when I started, we didn’t know where we were going, we didn’t know what we were doing, but each step got better and better, and each day I felt more and more excited. love this sport.
“I said there on the edge of my apron, then I did my post-match interview that I can take on anything. The sky is the limit.”
