Bongbong Marcos lauds Carlos Yulo for gold haul in World Cup

MANILA, Philippines—President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Monday congratulated Carlos Edriel Yulo for winning a gold medal in the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.
In his message, Marcos described Yulo’s win as “a shining moment in the gymnastics world”, telling the Filipino gymnast to “keep making history”.
“We celebrate another shining moment in the world of gymnastics with @c_edrielzx’s gold medal double win at the 2023 FIG Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan,” he said in a post on Twitter.
“Congratulations Carlos, and keep making history!” Marcos added.

Marcos was there before vowed to increase government support for Filipino athletes.
Yulo won the vault gold on Sunday just a day after winning the gold in the parallel bars in the third leg of the World Cup Series.
The Tokyo Olympic athlete’s two wins in Baku brought his gold medal tally to three in the quadruple series after dominating the floor gymnastics event at the Doha, Qatar stage a week ago.
The final stop of the World Cup will be held in Cairo, Egypt from April 27 to 30.
This year’s World Cup series is a qualifier for the apparatus events in the 2023 FIG Gymnastics World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium from September 30 to October 8, helping to qualify for the Olympics. Paris Conference 2024.
