Boeing’s game-changing drone gets a new name

Boeing’s new drone will be called the MQ-28A Ghost Bat, the aerospace giant announced this week.

Australia’s Defense Minister, MP Hon Peter Dutton, announced the appointee and name during a dedicated ceremony held at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland.

“The introduction of the new popular name is a rare and special moment in aviation history for our RAAF partners and the industry team,” said Glen Ferguson, director of Airpower Teaming Systems Australia and International. includes more than 35 Australian suppliers.

While the RAAF’s Loyal Wingman development program name will be dropped, Boeing’s product name for global customers will remain the Air Force Complex System.
