Bob Arum says Andy Ruiz Jr. and Robert Helenius are 2 options for Tyson Fury’s next fight in March Boxing News 24

Via Scott Gilfoid: Top Rated promoter Bob Arum said Andy Ruiz Jr and Robert Helenius were two options for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury to fight back in March when Dillian Whyte was out. Arum suggested Whyte split 75/25, but he said he wanted 10 million dollars, this will NOT happen.

That’s more booty than Ruiz got in his first and second fights with Joshua, so it’s no surprise that Arum didn’t want to pay Whyte that powder. Arum says that Whyte is “Too greedy.

Arum said the offer they made to Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs) was more than he’d ever received, but he didn’t accept it. As such, Fury and Arum are moving on and Whyte is now left in the dust without a fight.

It was ANOTHER missed opportunity for Dillian, who blew opportunity after opportunity in his career with hand in hand move.

Whyte is the mandatory WBC for Fury, but he is stuck in the refereeing, which is expected to be finished until March.

With Dillian out of battle with Fury, possibly forever, Arum will look to line up the ‘King of Gypsy’ with Ruiz or Helenius in March in Manchester, England.

Assuming Fury wins that fight, Arum says he will then face the winner of the Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2 to win the undisputed heavyweight championship in the second half of 2022.

Arum: Dillian’s Whyte team ‘too greedy’

“It’s unfortunate because Dillian Whyte could have had that fight and we’re going to fight it, but from our point of view, they’re very greedy in what they’re asking for,” said Bob Arum. IFL TV about what Whyte and his promoters want for a title against Fury.

Andy Ruiz Jr. Dillian Whyte Tyson Fury

“Especially in an age of pandemic where you don’t know what kind of audience you’re going to have in the last Tyson Fury fight, where we hosted the event and did a great gate.

“It would be even bigger if we had UK fans there who they couldn’t go because of the travel ban in the US. We have provided them [Team Whyte] a good deal, a budget deal, more than they’d ever had in any skirmish, and it didn’t move them.

“We talked to the head of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaiman, and he said, ‘Look, that breaks my heart, but go find another opponent, fight without the WBC title, and we will not take it from you. and continue your business. ‘

Ruiz and Helenius are 2 options for Fury

“Dillian Whyte and his men should discuss and make a deal against Tyson Fury, end of the story. But that is not likely to happen, so they will play the referee.

“Frank Warren and I are looking for another opponent to do the fight with Fury in Manchester or in Las Vegas, depending on who the opponent is. So we’re looking at Andy Ruiz, he’s a possibility, he’s available.

“This big Finnish kid looks great on the Fury-Wilder card, [Robert] Helenius. He’s a tall Finnish kid who can really fight, and those are the two main guys.
