BMW S 1000 RR launched in India for Rs 20.25


BMW Motorrad has launched its flagship motorcycle in the Indian market in 2023. The S 1000 RR is now more powerful than its predecessor, with aerodynamic upgrades as well as changes to Aesthetics help distinguish the 2023 version from the old version. The price of the BMW S 1000 RR 2023 is $20.25 lakh (old gallery) and increase $24.45 lakh (old gallery). It will be sold in three variants – Standard, Pro and Pro M Sport.

The 999 cc in-line 4-cylinder engine now produces a maximum capacity of 206 hp at 13,750 rpm and maximum torque of 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm. The engine can reach up to 14,600 rpm, which is quite high. Output power has increased by 2 hp while torque output remains the same. BMW has increased power output by modifying the design of the intake hoppers and with a new intake geometry. There’s also BMW ShiftCam technology and a shorter secondary gear ratio for more traction at the rear wheels.

Cosmetic changes include new liver. The front wing has small wings that now generate up to 10 kg of downforce depending on the speed the rider is taking. This extra weight helps counteract the tendency to skid during acceleration. In addition, it means that the traction control system requires no more intervention. Thus, helping the driver achieve faster lap times.

The rear of the car is also redesigned to be lighter and sportier. The number plate holder is also shorter now. As an accessory, there is a new hunchback cover and a durable chair.

Standard equipment on motorcycles has been changed. It now has a USB charging socket and an M battery as standard. The 6.5-inch TFT display now has more functions and a new rev display. The TFT display can be controlled using the Multi-controller located on the left handlebar.

The motorcycle comes with ABS Pro but now it also has the function of setting Brake Assist and ABS Pro “Slick”. New ‘Slick’ setting created specifically for spikeless smooth tires. The new Brake Slip Assist function allows the driver to slide the rear out before the system kicks in.
