BMW presents the 2020 Rolex-winning M8 GTE 24 to the private collector


BMW M Motorsport is offering a winning race car to a private buyer, BMW’s racing arm announced on Tuesday.

BMW USA Classic says it will retain two running examples of the eight cars, as well as vehicle support parts. The Chassis 1809 is one of only three other running cars in existence. The other two may go on sale in the future.

BMW ran the car through a series of tests and updated its program to make it easier for customers to use. The purchase will come with technical notes, press and marketing materials, a 2020 Rolex 24 trophy, special tools needed to operate the vehicle, and a spare parts package with a set of wheels. Supplements and many items are consumed during a race. BMW M Motorsport will be on hand to help run the car and supply parts for whatever race the ultimate owner wants to make.
