Blackpink’s Jennie was one of the few celebrities at Jacquemus’ Spring 2022 runway show in Oahu, HI, on March 9. Jacquemus’s signature aestheticJennie wears a cheerful head-to-toe pink outfit with cropped parts chess board and a low floor, striped midi skirt in the same knitting fabric. For accessories, she chose geometric mule sandals and a Le Sac Rond bag with round handle from the brand, plus a lovely pink ribbon in her hair.
Models walked along the white sands and crystal clear waters to introduce Jacquemus’ latest collection, marking the brand’s first introduction outside of Paris. Dubbed “Le Splash”, the line introduces easy and fashionable beachwear inspired by water activity – such as life jackets, leather snorkels and swimwear – while maintaining sleek, designer techniques and a penchant for vibrant colors.
After the show, Jacquemus took to Instagram to address criticism for choosing Hawaii as a destination overwhelmed with travel during the pandemic. “As a guest to Hawaii, Jacquemus places great emphasis on respecting this place, culture and way of life,” he wrote, adding that the fashion house primarily works with businesses from all over the world. Oahu and neighboring islands to “leave as much of a stamp as possible, as well as invite a “curated guest list”, mainly from the Asia-Pacific region. In addition to Jennie, other recognizable faces in the front row include Bretman Rock, Jhené AikoSZA and Daniel Caesar.
Just one day ago, Jennie was seen in Paris attend the house’s fall/winter 2022 presentation. Since becoming a Chanel ambassador in 2017, she has been spotted regularly wearing suits featuring the brand’s famous logo and tweed fabric and appearing in numerous campaigns. Blackpink member Jisoo also appeared at Paris Fashion Week, sport a checkered dress inspired by the 90s of “Clueless” for the Dior show.
