Blackhawks G Marc-Andre Fleury joins the COVID protocol

The NHL is trying to get back to work this week after suspending operations before the Christmas break because of the recent COVID-19 outbreak.

But a return to play hasn’t stopped the virus from spreading and Vezina Trophy winner Marc-Andre Fleury is the latest big-name player to be included in the health and safety protocol. The Chicago Blackhawks‘The next game scheduled for Tuesday has also been postponed.

Of course, the COVID-protocol players revolving door isn’t exclusive to the Chicago-based club. Several teams across the league are still trying to keep a full roster of players and avoid having to postpone more games as the league resumes after the weekend break.

NHL has been postponed back to play on a day in an effort to give teams more time to restart after a mandatory COVID shutdown, although games earlier in the week were postponed again because of the outbreak.

The federation has also reached an agreement with the players’ union for temporary changes to the collective bargaining agreement to help teams come up with full squads.
