Bengali minister Partha Chatterjee saw the joint stage with Mamata Banerjee and his aide was raided

The Director of Enforcement on Friday seized Rs 20 crore in cash after a raid on the home of an aide to West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee in connection with a teacher recruitment scam in the state. “Yeh toh bas trailer hai, picture abhi baki hai (This is just a trailer, the movie hasn’t come out yet) …” – that’s how BJP senior leader Suvendu Adhikari describes the raids on Arpita Mukherjee, in one of a series of tweets he posted attacking the Trinamool Congress that is in power in the state. Hours after the tweets, Partha Chatterjee was arrested in this case.
His tweet also featured several photos of Ms Mukherjee with Mr Chatterjee and Minister Mamata Banerjee. “‘Guilty by Association’ – a legal phenomenon used to describe when an individual commits a crime through the acquaintance of another,” the state’s opposition leader captioned one of the photos.

The investigative agency also conducted coordinated searches at the premises of Mr. Chatterjee, State Minister of Industry and Commerce, State Minister of Education Paresh C Adhikary, MLA and former Chairman of the State Board of Education. West Bengal study Manik Bhattacharya and some others .
The Trinamool Congress described the raids as a “plot” by the BJP government at the Center to “harass” their political opponents. West Bengal Transport Minister Firhad Hakim said: “This raid by the ED, a day after the spectacular All Saints’ Day protests that made waves across the country, is nothing more than an effort. to harass and intimidate the leaders of TMC”.
Photos of the raids showed piles of cash on the floor. Search teams were assisted by bank officials to tally the cash through the counter.
Sharing a photo of the recall, Mr. Akhikari alleges that the money was found inside the education ministry’s envelope. “Sources suggest that piles of cash were found inside World Bank Education Department envelopes with the National Coat of Arms printed on them,” he tweeted.

Partha Chatterjee took hold of the education portfolio when the alleged scam was debunked. He was questioned twice by the CBI, once on April 26 and then on May 18.
