Bizzarrini built the first great revival of the 5300 GT Corsa
Remember Bizzarrini? The ill-fated Italian sports car maker boomed in the 1960s with the rather lovable 5300 GT Strada and went on to win the Le Mans championship in 1965. However, the company’s success was short-lived. briefly and it collapsed in 1969 after building only 130. car. Now, it’s back and making cars again.
That’s right, Bizzarrini is revived in 2020 with the ambition to build the follow-up model of the 5300 GT. And now the company has completed its first new car, named the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Corsa Revival.
Produced at the company’s new UK plant, the follow-up is the first of 24 cars to be built according to the original design of the 5300 GT.
To create each vehicle, the cars are handcrafted using a lightweight composite body that’s structured on a steel frame. Inside, there’s a six-point roll cage and an FIA-approved safety box that wraps around the two seats.

To power the car, Bizzarrini fitted it with a “period-specific” V8 engine. with Weber 45 . carburetor. That power plant makes more than 400 horsepower, so to keep the car on the road, the company has also fitted an independent rear suspension and disc brakes.
The car also uses a range of components sourced from the same suppliers as the original models from the 1960s, and the weight only 2,700 lbs.
On the outside, Bizarrini has stuck to tradition and given the 5300 GT Corsa Revival a style of its own to match its 1960s race cars. As such, each of the 24 continuation models finished in red is named Bizzarrini Rosso Corsa. There are also white numbered circles and each buyer will have the option to choose their own numbers.
Simon Busby, Bizzarrini CMO said, “The team is extremely proud to see the first Corsa Revival 5300GT leave the factory en route to its new owner. We relaunched Bizzarrini earlier this year as the beginning of a long-term vision, delivering this first customer is an important step on the path to full realization of that vision.
“As we continue to produce the rest of this series, we will continue to build on the passion and values of our founders with the next phase of the ongoing development of the modern supercar. ours.”
With one vehicle now in the wild, the company will ramp up production of the remaining 23 follow-up models that are planned to be built. There was no word on the price of each model, but when the company announced its return ambitions, Automotive News reports that the cars they build will be “powered by internal combustion engines and cost more than £1 million ($1.33 million)”.
