Ghost Story Games, the team led by BioShock creator Ken Levine, has finally revealed its first project. It’s called Judas, and if you’re a BioShock fan, you’ll be pleased with what you’re about to see.
To say that this game follows in the footsteps of BioShock would be an overstatement. From the industrial sci-fi look to the superpower action, using first-person dual-player, Judas embodies the pitfalls familiar in Levine’s work at The Unreasonable Game. Ghost Story describes it as a single-player, narrative-driven shooter and provides this gripping synopsis:
“You are the mysterious and troubled Judas. Your only hope of survival is to form or break alliances with your worst enemies. You will work together to repair what you have broken. broken – or will you let it burn?”
Levine founded the game Ghost Story in 2014 after he shut down Irrational, taking on only a small group of designers from the former studio. They’ve worked on the first title since then, though whether that game will always be Judas remains to be seen. After years of mostly silence, many wonder if we’ll see anything coming out of the studio; it was reported this early year that the group’s first project went through a rough patch. So it’s great to see the fruits of their labor in the end.
Judas doesn’t have a release window, but it’s coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
