this is the season
BioShock and its sequels are some of the best shooter RPGs of their generation, combining stellar action with a poignant story and enthralling world. BioShock Infinite released almost a decade ago and we’ve been waiting for the sequel ever since.
Liz Albl’s login to the 2K Games team is a hopeful sign of life. Bringing the fame of Far Cry 4, Ghost of Tsushima and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag to the BioShock table means the team has to fall after years of murky will-they, they won’t.
We know Bioshock 4 will involve open world game and there will be a time when attack you like familiar if you’ve played through the other three games, but beyond this one, the details have become drippy and dull.
Tweet hack November 2021, OopsLeak (opens in a new tab) stated that the working title for the project was BioShock: Isolation. Even so, in February 2022, same claimed account (opens in a new tab) that about 40 members of the team have left the project, including the leads, and that 2K is unhappy with the progress their Cloud Chamber studio is making.
The news of Liz Albl joining the team is quite important as, given the tumultuous developments at the 2K Games, it could suggest hope for more solid details to emerge in the new year.
