Bill Maher: How ‘Woke’ Became an ‘Eyeroll’

The media has blood on its hands.

It’s not a comment from Joe Rogan, Brand russell or even Tucker Carlson. Its Bill MaherHBO star whose show offers a steady stream of interruption stories in the Biden era.

Maher is now hailed in conservative circles for that despite his progressive stance on most issues. It helps explain why he joined Ben Shapiro in the host’s “Sunday Special” chat.

Famous Hollywood Actor/Producer Mark Duplass had to apologize for sharing kind words about Shapiro four years ago. Maher takes a different, more classically liberal approach.

The veteran manga series previously invited Shapiro to his “Real Time with Bill Maher” presentation. Over the weekend, Maher happily chatted with the co-founder of Daily Wire.

And he won’t apologize for that.

That conversation shows that both agree and disagree on an equal basis. Maher is facing a pandemic, and the media’s displeasure in its coveragelanded squarely on the former front.

“Seventy-eight percent of people who die or are hospitalized are due to obesity. And that’s another opinion that’s not a popular opinion to talk about, but I feel I have to because it’s such a prominent fact in this,” Maher said. “If you just said to someone, ‘Okay, there’s an x-factor in this… This x-factor accounts for 78% of people who die or go to the hospital.” You wouldn’t be a curious person. ? If you were a news organization, wouldn’t you talk about that fact all the time?”

Maher acknowledges how quickly the culture has evolved from attacking fat polishers to ignoring the impact obesity has on the human body.

He warns that evolution is killing humans.

“Again, I don’t embarrass people. I’m just saying we’ll never solve the health care crisis in this country until we have our arms around this, and we’re not allowed to talk about it otherwise. you are bad. Who, I’m sorry, you have blood on your hand. Anyone in the media doesn’t talk about this because you’re scared of the reaction, you have blood on your hands because you don’t do this for these people.”

He didn’t stop there.

Maher also attacks the awakening revolution with Shapiro, sharing how he initially sided with cultural forces that promote diversity and kindness. Then he learned the movement of real agenda.

“Waking up… has become an eye roll,” Maher said. “I just heard the term [woke] three or four years ago… and it was like, wary of injustice? OK, I’m frustrated with that.

“It has become word for word for many of these things silly that’s something I’ve always been up against,” he said. “That’s why they play me on Fox News now.”

Shapiro asked for his reaction to appearing on a web of his political views.

“I haven’t changed at all. At all. My politics have not changed. They changed,” he said, noting a quick and clear example. “Five years ago, no one talked about Defaming the police … It’s not that I change. That’s all changing. I am reacting to it.”

He has other examples to support his point.

“Let three-year-olds decide their gender. This is not what it was 5 years ago. Freedom of speech, used to be a leftist thing that we prided ourselves on and owned. Now, that seems to be under attack,” he said.

That doesn’t mean he’ll be voting Republican anytime soon, though.

Maher summed up that part of the conversation attacking Republicans for not supporting Climate Change initiatives and disparaging the January 6 riots, keeping part of their progressive personality intact. his traditional set.
