‘Big feature’ of iPhone 16 series is promoted by Apple boss, big investment to launch at the right time

Apple Bets Big on AI Features

Apple Intelligence was announced at WWDC2024 this year and is expected to launch alongside iOS 18 for eligible iPhones. While the iOS 18 beta update has been released to the public, it does not include Apple Intelligence features. Developers have discovered some AI features in the iOS 18.1 beta, suggesting that the iPhone 16 may not have Apple Intelligence in September.

While speaking to CNBC, Apple CEO Cook talked about the company’s efforts in the field of AI and he hopes that Apple’s new project in the field of AI will lead to sales growth. To bring AI features to the iPhone 16 series, Apple has increased its budget allocation and devoted more resources to building Apple Intelligence.

“What we did was move a lot of people who were doing other things into the AI ​​department,” Cook said.

“From a data center perspective, as you know, we have a hybrid approach. So we both have our own approach and we partner with everyone. And so the capex will be in the partners’ finances and we will pay the cost.”

“Certainly our business results this quarter are a year-over-year increase in the amount of money we spend on AI and intelligence at Apple,” Cook added.

Apple’s AI features will be available for free on the latest versions of iOS 18 and macOS 15. They only work on the latest Apple devices, such as the M1 and newer versions of iPads, Macs, and the iPhone 15 Pro.
