Betrayal at Club Low Wins IGF Grand Prize



Cosmo’s surreal nightclub RPG Betrayal at Club Low was the big winner at tonight’s IGF Awards, receiving both the Seumus McNally Grand Prize and the Nuovo Award. It’s one of this year’s top contenders for nominations, won all but one of the awards it has given out this year. The other nomination is Outstanding Design, which also belongs to the category of excellence. Case Of Golden Idolprove that, yes, again RPS Advent Calendar at the forefront of creating great indie flavors. Here is the full list of winners from tonight’s event.

Finally, in addition to all these accolades, Pharmacy won the Audience Choice Award this year. This is open to every nominated game tonight, meaning it beat all of the other 33 finalists. Quite an achievement!

I’m also pleased to see a few winners here that we haven’t had a chance to write about in RPS, such as Slider, The Forest Quartet, and RPG Time: Legend Of Wright. Admittedly, Slider isn’t quite out yet, but you can bet it’ll be straight to my Steam wish list later tonight. Meanwhile, the Forest Quartet cried out right at the end of December last year, and I really had an eye on RPG Time for years and then was never quite able to revisit it (though I certainly still play the stakes, I swear). In any case, I’ll be scouring the GDC show floor to try them out this weekend, so keep an eye out for more thoughts on them then.
