Bethesda has released a new video all about Vasco, the robotic companion seen in previous trailers and videos that will accompany you on your journey through the stars.
In the more than one-minute video, Starfield’s lead artist, Istvan Pely, highlights what to expect from Vasco. He says robots mean, well, everything – Vasco is great for space travel, land travel, defense needs and more. While very little is known about Starfield, just from this video it looks like Vasco will be with us for a lot of the time in the game, if not all.
Here’s what Pely has to say about Vasco in the video, in full:
“We are excited to introduce you to one of our favorite companions in the game. Constellation’s very own exploration robot, Vasco. An original model built by Lunar Robotics, Vasco was refurbished to meet the requirements of the Constellation mission. He’s a handy, heavy-duty industrial machine that’s well-suited for extreme space travel. Vasco’s design is based on a standard Type-A two-pedal chassis, capable of off-roading, with all the survival gear and load-carrying capacity needed for extended land runs. Vasco is capable of defending if needed, but his main role is to be moderate. He wears a white and red Constellation shirt, although over the years in the field the paintwork has worn and dented. But he’s still a reliable companion that an intrepid adventurer, like yourself, can rely on. ”
