Best smartphone of 2022 | Utility 360

When you think about the ‘best smartphone’ of the year, it’s easy to picture expensive, flagship phones. However, like every year, we also have some mid-rangers that really stand out in 2022. These may not be on par with proper flagships, but offer enough performance and features. capabilities at a much more affordable price. Folding phones continue to get better in 2022 thanks to Samsung pioneering this segment in India, while charging speeds reach new heights. However, the big focus of all the phones on our list is the camera. We’ve seen smartphones with amazingly flawless zoom, high-resolution sensors and next-level video stabilization for content creators. Depending on your budget and requirements, there is something for everyone on our list.

All these smartphones have been reviewed by us and we have selected only the best of the best, based on the ratings they received and what we feel are products. unique enough to still stand out, even to this day. This is Gadgets 360’s best smartphone list in India for 2022, in no particular order.

Google Pixel 7

After a couple of years of neglecting the Indian market, Google has finally decided to launch its 2022 flagships in India and we’re really glad it happened. Mid Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, we feel the Pixel 7 is the flagship phone most people should keep an eye on as it offers Google’s best view yet at a fairly affordable price point. Aside from the telephoto camera and higher resolution display on the 7 Pro, the Pixel 7 does pretty much what its pricier sibling can. It has a slick design with good build quality, a bright screen, useful software features, a quality camera, and very good battery life. As a Pixel, you can expect daily updates from Google, which should keep the phone fresh and relevant for at least a few years.

iPhone 14 Pro

The iPhone 14 Pro price hikes again in India, making it the most expensive Pro model ever. Apple’s big upgrades this time around are a more powerful SoC, a new-age screen notch that it calls Dynamic Island, and a higher-resolution main camera. The latter is possibly the coolest feature, and the improvements are noticeable in stills and captured video. When not as good In our experience, as the Google Pixel 7 Pro for stills photography, the 14 Pro is in a league of its own when it comes to video. The rest is business as usual. The iPhone 14 Pro has excellent build quality, very good performance, good battery life, and promises lasting software updates. The iPhone 14 Pro Max are also available with larger screens and batteries, but are significantly more expensive.

iPhone 14 Plus

While some of us were sad to see the iPhone mini discontinued, we’re glad Apple replaced it with something with more mass appeal. The iPhone 14 Plus model revival plus size ended with iPhone 8 Plus, and is the perfect choice for those who want a Pro Max sized iPhone but not too tall. The iPhone 14 Plus is essentially an iPhone 14 with a larger 6.7-inch screen, bigger battery, and for many people, that should be a good enough reason to own one. Despite its large size, it is actually lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro, which is a huge plus.

Samsung Galaxy Z flip 4

Last year’s foldable phone from Samsung really raised the bar by introducing an IPX8 rating for water resistance, and this year we’ve seen further improvement in design and features. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 this year isn’t a huge upgrade over its predecessor, which is why it misses a spot on our list, but Galaxy Z Flip 4 has received some meaningful updates that make it the best starting point for foldable products. The new model has a more refined design, a better external display, and significantly improved battery life. It also features a more power-efficient version of Qualcomm’s flagship SoC, which helps it achieve top performance without significant heat issues. Good cameras, great display, and the fact that it folds up to half its size is not just an act of novelty anymore.

Phone is nothing 1

Behind all the hype and flashing LEDs of Phone is nothing 1 is a very underrated mid-range product to this day, offering a complete package at an unbeatable price. Considering this is the startup’s first smartphone, it really nails the premium fit and finish. For a smartphone that costs around Rs. 30,000, you get a powerful 5G SoC, IP53 rating, and wireless charging. Phone 1 also has a vivid 120Hz display, clean software, and a very good main camera. Even if you never use the Glyph lights (which we still think is a gimmick), the Phone 1 delivers a premium Android experience that not many people can brag about, especially at the price point. this.

OnePlus 10R (150W)

One would normally expect one of the fastest charging smartphones to be a flagship, but surprisingly, it’s a mid-range product. The Oneplus 10R cheap challenges the brand’s typical design philosophy for a more generic design, but if you can rest easy with that, you’ll find that it’s a good small mid-range smartphone. The 150W or Endurance version of this phone really stands out because you can charge it up at lightning speed. This smartphone also has an impressive main camera, good battery life, and lean software. The standard version of this phone can charge at 80W, which is still impressively fast. Another phone worth mentioning is Realme GT Neo 3, the twin brother of 10R. It’s basically the same phone but with a different design and software.

VivoX80Pro

If we had to choose the best phone for creating video content other than iPhone, we would choose VivoX80Pro. Although more expensive than its predecessor, Vivo’s 2022 flagship is the best Android phone for recording video content thanks to its dedicated image chip and gimbal stabilization system. It also has a Night Sight mode that’s incredibly good for capturing stills in low light, something that could make Google’s Night Sight a lot of money. Apart from the camera, the smartphone looks and feels part of a premium flagship. You get a sophisticated design, an excellent screen, great performance, and very good battery life.

Xiaomi 12Pro

The Xiaomi 12Pro represents a more mature and mature flag than the previous year. Instead of focusing on bulk and gimmicky features, the 12 Pro boasts sophisticated design and premium components that focus on quality over quantity. The Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with great build quality, a sharp 120Hz display, 120W wired charging, great sounding speakers, and a very capable camera. What really makes it better than Mi 11 is super from last year is that you can actually buy this smartphone in India.

Asus ROG Phone 6″

The Asus ROG Phone 6″ remains unchallenged in India as no other company has released a dedicated gaming phone this year. The Phone 6 offers better value than the ROG Phone 6 Pro and further enhances the dedicated gaming features we’ve seen in previous generations. With support for a refresh rate of up to 165Hz and a large 6,000mAh battery, ROG Phone 6 is a real monster when it comes to pretty much any game you use. Some notable new features include an IPX4 rating for water resistance, improved cameras, and faster charging. Accessories are also something you want to invest in, as some accessories like the 6 Aerodynamic Cooler really make a big difference to performance.

OnePlus 10 Pro

The OnePlus 10 Pro It’s a solid, no-nonsense flagship that offers the best OnePlus experience (the rest of it, anyway) and a very good camera. Its design is unlike any previous OnePlus smartphone and there it is. It’s sleek and stylish, has an excellent display, outstanding performance, and very good battery life. It doesn’t get an official IP rating in India, but it has all the seals and safeguards to make it water and dust resistant. With the company going through an identity crisis, this may be the last time we see OnePlus brand features, such as the ‘Alert Slider’ on flagship OnePlus phones, which have been largely overlooked. explicitly lacking on Oneplus 10T 5G that comes after it.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

The merger of Samsung’s Galaxy Note and S series was completed this year with the arrival of Galaxy S22 Ultra. If we had to choose a single Android phone that we feel is almost perfect, it’s hard to find anything better than this one. This time around, Samsung has outfitted everything but the sink by including a built-in S Pen stylus, an incredible display, and what is arguably the best telephoto camera in any phone. It’s quite expensive compared to the other Android flagships on our list but still cheaper than an iPhone 14 Pro. If you want a phone that excels in almost every area, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is an easy choice.

Motorola Edge 30 Pro

This year’s ‘flagship-killer’ award goes to Motorola Edge 30 Pro in addition to having a top-level SoC, it also has typical features like wireless charging and an IP rating. What makes it an easy contender for the title, however, is its price, which was quite high when it launched in February of this year and is even better value after its recent price cut. The Edge 30 Pro offers a clean Android experience, very fast charging, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a very good selfie camera. If you don’t like spending a lot but still don’t want to miss out on things like a good telephoto camera or solid gaming performance, it’s hard to find a better all-round device at this price point.
