After scouring the world’s largest tech show to find all the most innovative products we could find, we’ve curated a list of the best from CES 2023. Our website has found a ton of gadgets that interest us, and some that we might even purchase or recommend later this year when they’re officially released. However, for ZDNET’s list of the best of CES 2023, we focused on six that are innovative, unique, and likely to have the biggest and most positive impact. Here they are.

1. Wireless TV replacement

TVs have been the focal point of CES for decades, and the biggest booths at the show are dominated by TV manufacturers, who are also some of the biggest tech companies in the world. That makes it extremely unlikely that a six-person startup could go to CES and innovate ahead of the biggest companies at the show, but that’s exactly what Displace did with the launch of the world’s first wireless TV at CES 2023.

The TV is surprisingly light and runs on hot-swappable batteries that last about a month. It connects wirelessly to a base station to receive content. And it has another innovation that makes it easy to move to different places in the house: it can stick to almost any surface without a stand by using vacuum technology. It also doesn’t use the remote. Instead, users control it with gestures and smartphone apps. It’s amazing how ambitious Displace is trying to improve the TV experience. Its 55-inch TV will go on sale later this year for $2,999.

2. Evie Ring from Movano

Movano is creating the first wearable fitness tracker that will be FDA-approved as a medical device to raise the standards of wearable accuracy and reliability. The sad truth about many people today fitness tracker is that they are not necessarily accurate, and many of them are incorrect, especially in certain situations. So the fact that Movano plans to release medical-grade fitness trackers in itself is important.

For Movano’s first product to hit the market, it also solves another problem with today’s fitness trackers — almost all of them designed with men in mind first, then finally tailored to meet the needs of women. 3. HTC Vive XR Elite

ZDNET participated in CES 2023 ask if anyone can interest us in the metaverse and HTC delivered by unveiling arguably the most impressive XR headset we’ve ever seen, as well as doubling down on its promise of moving towards an open ecosystem that will turn metadata into version 3D of the internet powered by AI. that would be a much better inverse than anything we’ve seen so far.

The HTC Vive XR Elite the headphones are extremely light and comfortable to wear, deliver a premium look, and have a relatively modest $1,999 price tag for premium headphones. The headset can deliver content from phones, PCs, and online VR platforms. And, HTC says that it is working with all the players in the VR industry who want to create an open, cross-platform metaverse like the open internet.

At CES 2023, the author of Snow accident, Neal Stephenson — who helped create the vision of the metaverse in his novels and is also a supporter of the open metaverse — joined HTC in calling for support for the open metaverse. Stephenson’s metaverse startup lamina1, based on blockchain technology, is also emerging as a key influencer in the open metadata discussion. 4. Lenovo ThinkBook Wireless Stand

Between More Lenovo announcements of the new laptopPC — and even smartphone — is the debut of Lenovo ThinkBook Wireless Dock. This allows your laptop to connect wirelessly to a pair of 4K displays at 60Hz. The accessory also comes with a wireless charging pad that works with a current Lenovo laptop model but is clearly capable of being integrated into future models.

The wireless dock is powered by technology from Synaptics and it is also being integrated into a Targus . wireless docking station will work with other brands of laptops. The takeaway here is that this technology will be great for today’s workers who are working at the workplace, commuting between conference rooms and switching between plugging into their desks with one big screen and work from the couch or kitchen table at home. This is a much better and more flexible option than it is today USB-C connectivity solution and we want to see more in the years to come.

5. Flex Hybrid from Samsung Display

After paying attention to foldable phone peaked in 2019, most phone makers have phased out their foldable phones in the past few years. However, Samsung continues to release new foldable phone models each year, and Samsung Display’s components division went all out by showing off the latest concepts of the future of phones at CES. 2023. That includes a bunch of different models that can be folded, bent, and expanded.

One of the Internet’s most beloved viral stars of the past few years is a shepherd dog named Bunny who has learned to communicate with his owner using a soundboard to type more than 90 words, based on classical conditions. The New York Times called Bunny “TikTok’s ‘talking’ dog” because her viral videos led to over 8 million followers on Bunny’s TikTok account.

The soundboard that Bunny uses is manufactured by a company called FluencyPet and at CES 2023 company announced FluentPet Connect. Now not only can you hear the speaker when your dog or cat presses a specific button, but you can also receive an alert on your phone when they press that button. So if you’re somewhere else in your home or at work, you can get a message about what your pet is trying to communicate. It could be everything from your dog needing to go out to the mailman who just arrived to a stranger arriving at your door.
