Iyana Halley is starring in the summer thriller with her Golden Globe Award Winner driver, Idris Elba49. The 29-year-old actress, who plays “Meredith Samuels,” one of Idris’ daughters in the film, spoke EXCLUSIVELY with HollywoodLife when she talked about her experience after working with the A-list actor.
“It was everything and more! I think we all know how talented Idris is, but other than that, he’s a great guy to be around.” Abbott Elementary School said the star. “He’s also super funny! I remember one of the days when we were filming, we were all playing football together. It’s me, he, my sister Leah Jeffriesand Sharlto Copley (who plays my uncle) with some crew members and it was fun. People are making jokes because I’m not good at all! But it’s the little things like that that bring us all together even more! “
The Brooklyn native also revealed a piece of advice Idris shared with her: “don’t worry”. She explained, “One day when we were filming a big scene, I expressed that I was very nervous. He told me I didn’t have to, and that I did a great job. Little things like that really help me. Most of what I learned is through observing him. He takes his job very seriously and I love that. Even when the cameras weren’t on him and they were working on someone else’s coverage, he made sure to give us what we needed in terms of power. Not everyone does that. Idris is really a team player.”
In the film, Idris’ character is a widowed father of two teenage girls, and he takes his daughters on a tour of a game reserve in South Africa. However, their journey quickly become bloody When family and their wildlife biologist friend (played by Sharlto) come face to face with a giant predator at the top, the ferocious god kills every human it encounters.
