“Two years of stalking the streets as Batman, hitting the criminals in fear, plunged Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City,” reads the film’s official synopsis. With only a few trusted allies, Alfred Pennyworth, Lieutenant James Gordon, amid the city’s network of corrupt officials and high-ranking figures, the lone vigilante has seen himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance among his colleagues.”
Also among the cast are Andy Serkis as Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as GCPD’s James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham DA Gil Colson and Colin Ferrell as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin.
The film is directed by Matt Reeves, who also wrote the screenplay with Peter Craighe.
“The Batman” is scheduled to release on March 4, 2022, exclusively in theaters.
